Pastor Steve Propst was born on July 14, 1960 in Harrisonburg Virginia in the beautiful Shenandoah Valley. He graduated from Bridgewater College in 1983 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Sociology and later received a Master of Divinity Degree from Eastern Mennonite Seminary in May of 1994. Pastor Steve and April were married on January 12, 1985 and have two children Katie Marie and Joshua. Prior to entering the pastoral ministry, he served as a Youth Pastor at Dayton United Methodist Church from 1985-1990. In June of 1990 he was licensed as a local Pastor. He was ordained as a Deacon in the United Methodist Church in 1992. In 1998 he was ordained an Elder in Full Connection in the United Methodist Church at the Civic Center in Roanoke Virginia. He has served as a pastor for 21 years. The churches he has served include: Stanley UMC on the Harrisonburg District; Pleasant Grove UMC on the Danville District; Mint Spring UMC on the Staunton District; and currently serving Mountain View Gayle was born in Lynchburg, VA on August 24, the oldest of two children. Her family moved to Richmond, VA in December, 1966. She graduated from Thomas Jefferson High School in 1975 and then went to work in October of 1975 at Life of Virginia Insurance Company. I moved back to Lynchburg in 1981 and worked at First Colony Life Insurance Company in the New Business Department. She married Doug Saunders in 1983 and has one son Ben, born in 1985. Gayle went to work at Fairview United Methodist Church as their secretary in 1993 and worked with them for 5 years. She began working at Mountain View in September of 1998. The Lord led Gayle to this job and has kept her here all these years and is continuing to keep her here as Administrative Assistant to the Pastor. Gayle is a great cook and assists Joy with special catering events at Mountain View and elsewhere. E-Dee was born in Mt. Sterling, Kentucky. Growing up the youngest of four and a daughter of a Chaplain in the Army, she was raised all over the world. In 1992, her Father retired from active duty and became the Pastor of Memorial Christian Church in Lynchburg, Va. In 1995 E-Dee married her husband, Ted who is from Enfield, Connecticut. They have four daughters: Meagan, Natalie, Sarah, and Rachael. In 2003 E-Dee heard the calling and began working with youth on their journey in their relationship with God. Her calling began at Amelon United Methodist church in Madison Heights, Va. Her calling has brought her to Mountain View United Methodist Church. Here she will work with the youth as they build their relationship with God and find their own calling with in their own lives. Cynthia answered the call to serve as Parish Nurse/Faith Community Nurse at Mountain View in 2009. She completed the Parish Nurse/Faith Community Nurse course offered by Centra in March 2010. Originally a native of Indiana, Cynthia is a professional Registered Nurse and a graduate of St. Joseph's Hospital School of Nursing, in Ft. Wayne, IN. She has practiced for 30 years, gaining experience in many areas. Her passion and expertise for the last 20 years has been that of a Post Anesthesia Care Nurse. Currently, Cynthia is a full time PACU Nurse at Virginia Baptist Hospital. She was the recipient of Centra's Craddock-Terry Excellence in Nursing Practice Award for the Surgical Services Division in 2008. Cynthia is also active in the community as a Reach to Recovery Volunteer for the American Cancer Society. Cynthia resides in Forest with her husband, Seyed, and two children, Taranee and Amir. April was born and raised in Harrisonburg, Virginia. Her husband, Steve, is the pastor of Mountain View UMC. She and Steve have two children, Katie, who is a college student and Josh who attends Jefferson Forest High School. Her family moved here two years ago. She worked in the Augusta County School System for nine years in various roles, such as a teacher's assistant. Last year she worked in the Knight's Club as Assistant Director. Pat Hubbard has been a child care worker at Mountain View United Methodist Church for 10 years. She also works full time in accounting at Automated Conveyer Systems for 33 years. Her grandson, Logan, is with her most Sundays at church. Bio
